Some cool things must come to an end. My Powder Blue has become an incessant bully to the Blonde Naso. Today I used a nori clip and my @printedreef acclimation box as a manual trap to collect the Powder Blue with the least amount of stress to the fish and damage to the reef as possible.

The successful trapping took around 10 minutes. For now the PB is a new inhabitant in the frag tank.

I opted for a @deltec_gmbh 600i skimmer for the frag tank. It's still breaking in, but I'm really liking it. The neck cleaner and controllable pump are nice touches, but the emergency overflow to prevent cup spillage is the clear winner.

We're back to a scheduled feeding day. Awhile back I said I'd tell you my thoughts on these @faunamarin foods. I have been consistently feeding Amin, Min S, Coral Balance and Coral Sprint since August (and benepets because it's awesome).

The sheer growth measured through consumption, polyp extension, color, and nutrient stability has exceeded all my expectations and goals. Check back through my posts to August to see for yourself.

Well, that's a little lower than I want it. Time to dial up the @deltec_gmbh TwinTech. Over the last week I have turned up the recirculation pump from 75% to 100% and increased the daily effluent from 5L to 25L! 🤯

I use the Hydros iV tester for automated alkalinity testing. In addition to keeping that calibrated, I spot-check with a Hanna checker. Samples tested at the same time read 6.97 (iV) and 7.0 (Hanna).

After the lights ramp up, I run the LPS/SPS+ preset with my @atinorthamerica Straton Pro G2s which allowed me to capture this feeding with #nofilter

With the leak test done I reinstalled my @reefoctopus LR-200 macro-algae reactor. Space is at a premium and I got the go-ahead from higher to install it externally.

The reason I decided to reinstall this reactor is to control nutrients naturally without the use of GFO and to also benefit from the pH benefits during the reverse photo-cycle.

I'm sure the added CO² from the calcium reactor will help supercharge the chaeto growth.

I love it when things just work. Running my gyres directly into the Wave Engine and its wave profiles has been nothing short of incredible. My @reefoctopus Elite 200-INT is also directly interfacing with the WE with a level sensor through the Hydros. No individual power bricks, no individual controllers.

The iV tester runs alkalinity tests throughout the day while also taking isolated pH and Salinity measurements; I have "verified" these measurements with a Hanna checker and they have been well within a tolerance I accept.

We're back to the regularly scheduled programming.

The reef is now largely swapped over to HYDROS gear with the exception of running auto-water changes.

My module line up for those curious is: X3 Control, XP8, Launch, Wave Engine v2 and X10.

I have an iV Pro performing automated alkalinity testing and all of the necessary probes to keep a close eye on the system.

Overall, the @cadeaquariums makes it very easy to have a clean install. I just need to work on a little cable management and we'll be set.
